OUTDOOR WORSHIP BEGINS MAY 24TH, PENTECOST SUNDAY: Rockport is blessed to have a beautiful hidden gem, our outdoor sanctuary. Beginning May 24th at 9:30am service will be outdoors so please dress accordingly. In the event of rain, we will move indoors to our air-conditioned sanctuary. EMS remains at 8:30am in our indoor chapel. Don’t forget to wear Red for Pentecost.

SPRING CLEAN OUT AT ROCKPORT: Your Church Council has voted to do a major spring clean out. If you have any personal items in the church attic, basement or classrooms, you need to remove them immediately. An example of items set to be donated are bikes in the attic, a mattress in the resource room, small refrigerators, racks and shelving in the youth room plus lots more file cabinets and metal cabinets in the attic. We are also cleaning out the babysitting room so there is less clutter and more room for kids to play. Please immediately take anything that is yours so that no personal items are donated or thrown out. Thank you, Church Council.
BOOK CLUB: Join us on May 27th, 7:00pm in the church parlor, for book club. Instead of talking about the book “The Life Impossible” by Matt Haig we will be watching the Netflix movie “Remarkably Bright Creatures” based on the book we read in the past. Hope to see everyone on May 27th for food, fun, and fellowship.
PEACE WITH JUSTICE SUNDAY: Peace with Justice Sunday celebration is May 31, 2026. This offering is collected the first Sunday after Pentecost and it supports peace with justice ministries through the General Board of Church and Society and the annual conferences. Envelopes are available by the treasure chest.
GRADUATES! If you have a graduate from high school, college, grad school, or trade school, please let us know! We will be recognizing all graduates in Worship on June 14th.

WITH GRATITUDE: I would like to thank each member of choir for their service. You make me proud. We share our ministry together through music and fellowship. Some of our highlights this season have been singing at the Wade Memorial Chapel, Pre-service music Christmas Eve, Combined choir with NOUMC for Ash Wednesday, challenging ourselves in singing a cappella, and never giving up when a song was difficult. Some of us sang ensembles, trios, duets and even solos. “I am not alone. I am not alone. You will go before me. You will never leave me. You amaze me, redeem me, you call me as your own. You will never leave me.” Lyrics from “I Am Not Alone.” In service, Susan Shick, Director of Music/Organist

We have a cabinet fund, and you do not have to spend your own money, unless you’re donating items. We have a list of item suggestions available, and if you’re interested, please call the office. Please make sure to turn in your receipts to the office to be reimbursed! Thank you.

Coordinated Clergy Session Marks a New Chapter for Ohio
Clergy gathered at Lakeside Chautauqua on May 7 for a coordinated clergy session marked by worship, learning, celebration and reconciliation.
The day began with opening worship, featuring special music from an all-Ohio band of musicians from the East and West Ohio Conferences and a sermon by retired Bishop Sally Dyck. Preaching on Matthew 14:13-21, Dyck, who previously served the East Ohio Conference as a pastor and district superintendent prior to being elected to the episcopacy, invited clergy to see discipleship as putting love of neighbor into action.
“Jesus turns to us today and says, ‘you feed them, you bring them hope, you bring them help,’” Dyck said.
East and West Ohio then moved into separate conference business sessions while also sharing lunch, fellowship, the Rock the Dock gathering, call-to-ministry stories from colleagues and a Ministry Fair, celebrating Ohio Episcopal Area ministries.
