If you are looking for a church that focuses on how to find God in the midst of our unpredictable world, then consider Rockport United Methodist Church. You can count on messages that will center on what God has for your life today. These messages are rooted in scripture and based on bringing us closer to experience what it is like to place our trust and hope in an almighty God. We offer opportunities at Rockport Church that center on investing in one's faith and relationship with God through great children's programs, nursery care, youth group, prayer, and Bible study. In deepening our faith, we are moved to share God's love by engaging with others in our communities and around the world. All these opportunities help keep the Rockport family of God engaging with God in making a difference in the world.
What's with the arrows?
The arrows pointing up and down represent a relationship with God...one's faith. This is nurtured through engaging in regular worship, holy communion, Bible study, and prayer.
The arrows pointing out represent reaching out and engaging in relationships with others to show God's love in word and action.
The word "Engage" is central because as one engages in a relationship with God, they are moved to be engaged in relationships with others.
Just as Jesus had a relationship with God, he didn't count himself equal to God. He humbled himself to be a servant. (see Phil. 2:5-8) In doing so, he engaged in regular prayer and worship with God. It is through this relationship Jesus was empowered to share God's love to all the world.
We believe personal salvation must be expressed in humble ministry and mission in the world.
"Faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead"
