Set in the late 19th century, the novel recounts the adventures of an 11-year-old orphan girl Anne Shirley sent by mistake to two middle-aged siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had originally intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm in the fictional town of Avonlea in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The novel recounts how Anne makes her way through life with the Cuthberts, in school, and within the town.” Hope to see everyone on July 16th for food, fun, fellowship, and discussion.

BOTTLE CAPS!
The Youth Group are collecting bottle caps for a mission project. The plastic kind - for example, 2 liter and 16/20/24 oz bottles.
During these past weeks we have been asking you, the congregation, to collect bottle caps, and we are providing the boxes to collect them with to make it easier. (courtesy of Dave Stephan! THANK YOU!) You can grab one on your way out of the church on the Christian Ed table in the hallway…   We have been asking to collect these caps in order to create our own bench, fully from the caps we have collected. This bench will signify how recycling can be seen and the process. This bench will be placed in a chosen location on the church grounds.  Along with these recycled caps, we will also accept donations to use towards the processing of the caps to the bench. Through our collective efforts we will eventually have a product that can be enjoyed by everyone.
You can find the acceptable caps and lids list posted on the table with the boxes, and also above. We will be collecting THROUGH MOST OF THE SUMMER! Thank you!

DISTRICT NEWS: www.eocumc.com/northernwaters

Bishop Hee-Soo Jung called to order the 56th session of the East Ohio Annual Conference with 289 clergy and 312 laity gathered June 12-14 at the College of Wooster.

“The theme of this year’s Annual Conference Rise-Up Beloved builds upon Jesus’ vision of the church as the resurrected community and vibrant call for unity out of our rich and varied diversity,” Bishop Jung shared in his State of the Church address.

During the worship services of this year’s conference, members celebrated the ministries of 20 retiring clergy, eight newly licensed local pastors, one commissioned Deacon, one ordained Deacon, and three ordained Elders.

The conference also commemorated the lives and ministries of 32 clergy, spouses, and laity who entered the Church Triumphant since last year.

Business sessions began each day with a Bible study on soul care led by Rev. Dr. AHyun Lee of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. The study focused on Mark 5:35-43, the theme scripture for AC 2025.

Annual Conference members approved a $8,337,276 budget for 2026, increased minimum salary for clergy by 5% across all ministry categories, adopted five resolutions, and much more.

The body heard a report from the Ohio Episcopal Area Task Team and joined Annual Conferences around the world in voting on four Constitutional Amendments.
