HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF US!

1822 - 2022
September 18th is almost here and we hope that you are making plans to celebrate with us! A free catered luncheon in Wesley Hall will follow our special 10:00 am worship service. We have heard from many of our prior members and staff that they plan to join us and we are excited to see them.  Please join us, we have room for everyone!
A celebration like this only happens once every 100 years
so don’t let this one go by without us seeing you!

ROCKPORT SENIOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECT:
On September 14th, a group from Rockport UMC, namely, Rev. Don, Dennis O’Neil, Mike Wilkenson, Nick Berardi, and Dominic Berardi, replaced the steps at a home owned by Janice (shown in the photo), in Fairview Park.  Her old steps were unsafe.
Our team removed the old steps, removed bricks and rocks to level the surface, and installed the new steps.  Additionally, we replaced cracked or missing mortar on the bricks by the steps, to improve the brick structure.
The steps were funded by Rockport’s Spaghetti Dinners.  Thank you all for buying and helping make these dinners, to help those in our community, like Janice.

PRAY AND BIKE OR WALK OR RELAX OPPORTUNITY!
Thursday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m.  Praying and Biking or Walking or Sitting to Relax  are two great activities!  Please join us to do both!  Our prayer focus is the scripture from Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  We will be praying for God's Will to be done for the next 200 years of Rockport Church! And then we can bike, or walk, or sit and relax! All are welcome!

BOOK CLUB:
Please join us on Monday, October 10th at 7:00pm at Juanita Pariano’s house for fellowship and discussion.  Bring a dessert or appetizer to share.  The book we will be reading is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. This book is about Elizabeth Zott, a one-of-a-kind scientist in 1960’s California whose career takes a detour when she becomes the unlikely star of a beloved TV cooking show. What is this? Elizabeth has dealt with it all. Plenty of misogyny and people doubting her skills. Hope to see you all on Oct. 10th for food, fellowship and discussion!
