Rockport Updates: November 4, 2021

2022 STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN:
Be looking for a letter mailed out this week from Pastor Don!  On Sunday, November 14th, will be Consecration Sunday and will feature a special speaker during the 10am worship service.  Following worship at 11am everyone is invited for a free brunch, however, donations will be gladly accepted.  The brunch menu is ham, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, eggs, fruit, vegetable tray and baked goods.  Coffee, tea, milk and various juices will also be on hand.  No reservations are required but for planning purposes, please sign up on the church bulletin board or let Sara in the office know that you will be coming.  If there is interest, we plan to have a trivia contest after brunch.  Hope to see you on the 14th!  Questions or to help, call Diana Leitch 440-759-5980.

For all the saints, who from their labors rest.
Who thee by faith before the world confessed.
Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest.
Alleluia, Alleluia!

YOUTH & CHILDREN MINI MISSION:
The youth and children are collecting for kids and youth gently used (or new) clothing, boots, scarves, gloves, and coats for Nehemiah Mission. PLEASE let us know if you have anything to donate. You can drop it off in the next two weeks. We will have a bin under the Christian Ed table outside the Sanctuary!   PLEASE be watching for our next Mini Mission this fall, as well!

OFFICE VACATION:
Please remember the church office is closed for Thanksgiving on November 25-26th.  Sara will be on vacation from Friday, November 19th-November 26th.  Pastor Don will be in the office on Tuesday, November 23rd from 11-1pm.  For pastoral emergencies, please call Pastor Don or leave a message on the church machine. Calls will be checked daily.

MILITARY BOXES:
On Sunday, Nov. 21st following worship, we will pack military boxes.  Please bring items to go in the boxes or consider donating to this mission.  Any and all help are greatly appreciated.  Questions, contact Jeff Zullo.

PRAYER TENT:
We welcome you to stop by the Prayer Tent! Feel free to pray, journal, worship, sit, kneel, stand, rejoice, mourn, and everything in-between! Pray in the way that is comfortable to you. This is YOUR quiet time with God.

CHARGE CONFERENCE:
All District Charge Conference is Saturday, November 13th, 10:30am, via Zoom. All are welcome.

IN-PERSON BIBLE STUDY: REVIVAL - FAITH AS WESLEY LIVED IT!  TUESDAY'S FROM 7 - 8 P.M. OCT 13 - NOV. 17.
We will have the Bible Study in the Prayer Chapel.  We are very thankful to God for the opportunity to learn more about God's Word and a Faithful Servant of God - John Wesley.  Wesley’s message and his faith continue to speak to 21st-century Christians—calling for a revival of our hearts and souls so that our world might be changed.  Join Bill Eyman and Dan Newman and author, Adam Hamilton, for a six-week journey as he travels to England, following the life of John Wesley and exploring his defining characteristics of a Wesleyan Christian. Wesley’s story is our story. It defines our faith and it challenges us to rediscover our spiritual passion in becoming mature disciples of Jesus Christ. All are welcome and encouraged to attend! Blessings!

CHOIR:
Enjoy singing? Enjoy laughing?  Enjoy being part of a group?  Want to be a part of Worship?  Then consider joining choir.  We meet every Tuesday from 6:30pm – 7:30pm.  We sing twice a month at the 10:00am worship.  Hope to see you there!

MEN’S GROUP:
The Rockport Men’s Group will meet on Thursday, November 11th at 6:30 pm at the church for a potluck dinner. There will be a great meal, time for face-to-face fellowship and a guest speaker.  Come and enjoy this special time together!

BOOK CLUB:
Please join us on Monday, November 15th at 7pm in the church parlor.  We have changed the book to What Comes Afterby Joanne Tompkins.  This book offers an unforgettable story of loss and anger, but also of kindness and hope, courage and forgiveness. It is a deeply moving account of strangers and friends not only helping each other forward after tragedy, but inspiring a new kind of family. Hope to see you all on November 15th for fellowship and discussion!
