LENTEN DEVOTIONS AND PRAYERS! 6 TO 7:30 P.M. WEDNESDAYS

Come for some soup and Lenten Devotions and Prayer!
March 6th
March 13th
For our Lenten Soup Dinner and Devotions - Wednesdays from 6 - 7:30 pm on February 28, and March 6 & 13 where we will be using “The Sanctuary for Lent 2024” This devotion contains brief readings for each day in Lent, from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday, including a suggested Scripture, a short devotion, and a short prayer or practice—all based on the Revised Common Lectionary. This annual favorite helps readers faithfully journey through Lent as they prepare to experience the joy of the Resurrection.  The devotion will be provided at no cost, and we will focus on a few of the devotions during each session time.  All are welcome and if you need transportation, please email or call 440-331-9433 the church office.  Thanks, and God bless!

PANCAKE BREAKFAST:
On Sunday, March 24th (Palm Sunday) after our 10am worship service, all are invited to a pancake breakfast with homemade buttermilk pancakes (Gluten free also available), sausage, eggs, and fruit in Wesley Hall. There is no charge but donations will be accepted. Please let Diana Leitch know if you are willing to help.

THE ROCKPORT MEN’S GROUP

will meet on Thursday, March 14th at 6:30 pm at the church for a potluck dinner. There will be a great meal, time for fellowship and a presentation by Rev. Michael Parisher, executive director of The Nehemiah Mission. The Nehemiah Mission of Cleveland serves low-income persons and neighborhoods by providing community enhancement, home maintenance & targeted programming for; international newcomers, elderly, disabled & those without shelter, food and clothing.  Michael is a provisional deacon in the United Methodist Church. He has worked internationally in the missions field in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Argentina, and Tanzania. He has also worked with refugees at the Church World Service in Durham, North Carolina. Everyone is invited to come and hear Michael’s’ presentation. Come and enjoy this special time together!

COFFEE HOUR:
Please consider hosting coffee hour and sign-up on the bulletin board.  Fellowship is so important to the life of the church and why not have a little snack at the same time!

BOOK CLUB:

Adrift in a raft after a deadly ship explosion, ten people struggle for survival at sea. Three days pass. Short on water, food and hope, they spot a man floating in the waves. They pull him in. “Thank the Lord we found you,” a passenger says. “I am the Lord,” the man whispers. So begins Mitch Albom’s most beguiling novel yet, The Stranger in the Lifeboat. We will discuss this book on Wednesday, March 27th @ 7:00pm in the church parlor This is a fast-paced, compelling novel that makes you ponder your deepest beliefs, "The Stranger in the Lifeboat suggests that answers to our prayers may be found where we least expect them." Hope to see everyone on March 27th for food, fun, fellowship and discussion.

CHAT AND CHEW ADULT DISCUSSION GROUP!
Come and join us at 12 noon, bring your lunch and enjoy your food AND a great discussion! We will explore various topics in the church and Bible.
