HELLO BELOVED ROCKPORT FAMILY!
We are hearing across news channels of the impending cold and snow advisory reports, indicating we are anticipating 7-10 inches of snow starting Saturday evening and lasting until Monday morning. I personally want to ensure everyone; members, friends, and staff are safe and not having to travel in dangerous conditions. Sunday service will be VIRTUAL ONLY! We are NOT meeting in person, but a link will be sent to stream service. I am working with the media teams from both Rockport (Scott) and North Olmsted (John) to ensure we have a seamless process and you can engage in worship online.
Our church office will be closed and no one will be at the church on Sunday, so PLEASE STAY HOME and worship in the safety and comfort of your home, or wherever you may be INSIDE.
Be Blessed, Be Well and please Stay Safe and Warm!
Pastor Tennille

INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING OUR YOUTH?
1. We’re looking for adults who would like to help with our youth programs in any capacity—volunteering, helping plan or brainstorm events, mentoring, or offering creative ideas. Whether you have lots of time or just a little, your support can make a meaningful difference. If you’re interested, please sign up on bulletin board or message Jubilee and be part of nurturing and growing our youth community! More information to follow upon reaching out!
2. YOUTH PLANNING MEETING
Our next youth planning meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 28 at 6:30 PM. Participants may join in person at the church or attend virtually via Zoom. For the Zoom link, please contact Jubilee at 216-337-7565 or Pastor Tennille.
3. YOUTH EVENT (AGES 5–18)
All youth ages 5 to 18 are invited to continue our tradition of preparing chili and cupcakes to sell on Super Bowl Sunday to help support their mission! Join us at the church on Saturday, February 7, from 4:00–8:00 PM. Pizza will be provided. Please contact Jubilee or Pastor Tennille to let us know if your youth will be attending.

VALENTINES DAY PARTY AT OHIO GUIDESTONE:
If you are free from 11:00 to 2:00 on Saturday, February 14, consider helping out at our Ohio Guidestone Valentine's Day Party. Please contact Diana Leitch if you are able to help out and bring joy to the kids’ faces. We usually have a craft station along with costumes and basketball. Sign-up sheet is posted. More ideas welcome also. Diana

BOOK CLUB:
Join us on March 4th, 7:00pm in the church parlor, for book club. “The Book Club for Troublesome Women” by Marie Bostwick follows four suburban housewives in 1960s Virginia, who form a book club after reading Betty Friedan’s “The Feminine Mystique”, discovering shared dissatisfaction with their seemingly perfect lives, and finding courage and friendship to pursue their suppressed dreams amidst societal changes, exploring themes of sisterhood, self-discovery, and women’s roles. Hope to see everyone on March 4th for food, fun, fellowship, and discussion.

DONUTS AND COFFEE HOUR:
Please consider hosting donuts and coffee before 9:30am worship and/or after worship coffee hour. Fellowship is an important part of the life of the church and why not have food as well! Sign-up sheet is posted on the chapel hallway bulletin board.
TAKE-WHAT-YOU-NEED CABINET!
We’re asking for help in shopping for the cabinet! We have a small crew of people who take turns shopping for the cabinet every so often, and we’d love to have your help! We have a cabinet fund, and you do not have to spend your own money, unless you’re donating items. We have a list of item suggestions available, and if you’re interested, please see Kira or call the office. Please make sure to turn in your receipts to the office to be reimbursed! Thank you.

Storyboard: Faith Witness Transformation is a podcast highlighting ministries across the East Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church that are transforming lives locally, nationally, and globally. Produced twice-a-month by EOC Communications, each podcast episode focuses on one of the core values of the #BeUMC campaign: Disciple Making; Belonging & Inclusion; Influence, Connection & Impact; and Experience of God through The United Methodist Church.

Episode 74 “Influence, Connection & Impact: The Stewardship of Wellness” features a discussion with Rev. Ed Fashbaugh, Will Fenton-Jones, and Rev. Beth Ortiz about how taking care of our bodies goes beyond diet and exercise.
|
|
“In America it’s almost becoming normal to be sick. That’s not God’s design for our bodies and so as we look at these things, it’s important to know what does support metabolic health,” shared Fashbaugh, executive director of Connectional Ministries.
|
|
Ortiz shared that when we take care of our bodies we are being good stewards of this God-given resource.“The body is amazing! The more you learn about it the more impressed I am with how not only how it’s meant to work but how it’s compensated when I haven’t done it particularly well. It’s really an honor to get to steward one’s body,” said the director of Discipleship Ministries.
