ROCKPORT HAPPENINGS!

CHURCH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED FROM
FRI., SEPT. 1st - TUES., SEPT. 5TH.

Please call Pastor Don, 440-391-9823, with any pastoral concerns.

MEN’S GROUP:
The Rockport Men's Group will meet at Nick Beradi’s home on Thursday, September 14th at 6:30 pm for a potluck dinner.  Nick’s address is: 5619 Whitehaven Ave., North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.  We will plan the activities and presentations for the next twelve months. Come and enjoy this special time together!

SPAGHETTI DINNER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Spaghetti Dinner will be Nov. 4th from 4-8:00pm.  We will need drivers to deliver meals to homebound, bakers, servers, set-up, clean-up, cashiers, to-go meal leader, marketing and kitchen help.  Please sign-up if you are willing/able to help in any way.

OUTDOOR WORSHIP:
Weather permitting, after September 3rd, we will continue to worship outdoors in our beautiful sanctuary overlooking the Metroparks.  Please dress accordingly.

“MAKING SENSE OF THE BIBLE”:
Join us Wednesday, Sept. 6th from 6:00-7:30pm for the FINAL class of, “Making Sense of the Bible” by Adam Hamilton.  Light dinner from 6-6:30 and study from 6:30-7:30pm, outdoors on the patio (weather permitting).

ROCKPORT MUSIC MINISTRY:
Psalm 150 proclaims “…everything that has breath give praise to the Lord!” The choir supports and enhances worship. Music inspires fellowship together. Music expresses things that we are unable to express in words alone.

On Tuesday, September 5, 2023 choir rehearsals resume from 6:00-7:20pm. Please join us in singing and fellowship as we prepare for Sunday worship.  Any questions, call Susan Shick, Music Director/Organist at home, 440-331-5718 (H), or email, ershick@prodigy.net.

BOOK CLUB:
Our next book discussion will be on Monday, Sept. 11th @ 7:00pm on the church patio.  The book we will be reading is “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell” by Robert Dugoni. This is a coming-of-age novel chronicling the life of protagonist Sam Hill, who is born with a genetic condition causing his irises to appear red.  From his early years, Sam faces ostracization and bullying, but his deeply Catholic mother insists the condition is God’s will. Hope to see everyone on Sept. 11th for fun, fellowship and discussion.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY ON WEDNESDAYS, BEGINNING ON SEPT. 13TH AT 7PM!
Join us for a 9 week course taught by Jim Spallino, that is a short-term study out of the Disciple Study series, called “Invitation to the New Testament”. Explore the writings of the New Testament using the story of Jesus as the starting point. This survey of the testament looks at how the early church took ownership of and was shaped by the story of Jesus and how the church learned how to develop as disciples and create communities of faith. A limited amount of gently used books are available for a $4 price. Please sign-up on the bulletin board if you plan to attend.

LUNCH & CHAT ADULT DISCUSSION GROUP!
Come and join us this summer! Bring your lunch and enjoy your food AND a great discussion! We will explore various topics in the church and Bible.
Fall Dates: We will meet once a month on the 3rd Monday of the month, 12 to 2 p.m.
*September 18th
*October 16th
