The Trustees are happy to inform everyone that they have received an offer of $392,000. The Trustees have voted to accept the offer. Closing date is set for Feb 28, 2022.
The likely buyers are a Christian couple, which sent the following letter with their offer.

Dear Rockport United Methodist Church,
Hello, our names are Therese and Tyler Jensen and we are interested in buying your house on Archwood Drive. Therese is an engineer at STERIS Endoscopy and Tyler is the Graphic Design and Marketing Manager at Firehouse Can Co. Outside of work, we spend our time serving at our church, playing board games, and are big fans of Cleveland sports. We currently live in Willoughby, but have been praying for an opportunity to move to the west side of Cleveland, as our family, church, and community are all on that side of town.
When we found out this house was owned by a church, we truly felt like this could be an answer to prayer. We are Christians and moving to Rocky River has been a prayer of ours since we got married in December 2020. Location wise, it is close to family and our church, Renew Communities, and we have always loved this area. We know this city is a place we can plant roots and build our family in.
Hospitality has been a pillar we believe God wants us to build our family on, it is something very important to us. Our prayer for our home (both now in our apartment and our future house) has been that we create a welcoming space where people can come as they are and know that they are loved by God right where they are. When we walked into this house, we saw all the wonderful living spaces and couldn’t help but think that this house really could be that answer to prayer.
Thank you for your time in reading this letter and for considering our offer. We truly appreciate it.
     Warmest Regards,
     Therese and Tyler Jensen

God is Good ! All the Time, God is Good!

As we endure the frigid weather of Cleveland in January and February and are feeling cooped up at home, why not stop at church and visit the new Media Center (next to the choir room)! Fix yourself a cup of coffee, read a book and look out at the beautiful metro parks, embark on a puzzle, or simply sit in quiet solitude and rejuvenate yourself! Be sure to check it out the next time your are at church!

met again on Monday and we discussed the decrease in COVID numbers in Cuyahoga County, which is good, but we still need to remain diligent in our safety protocols to keep everyone at Rockport safe. With this in mind, we are continuing with the following recommendations:  Masks are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED and we need to socially distance by family. Choir will practice in the sanctuary with safety protocols in place, as well as, Al-Anon. The task force will meet again on February 6th to reassess.

If you would like a copy of your 2021 year-end contribution statement please call the church office, 440-331-9433 or send an email.  Please specify if you wish for an email statement or a hard copy. If a hard copy is desired, let me know if you want it mailed or you will pick it up. Thanks, Sara Chapman

Boxed offering envelopes are available in the narthex.  These boxed sets are ideal for those folks who contribute weekly.  We also have 2022 calendars available from Zeis McGreevey Funeral Home for those who desire one.

The Men’s Group will have a potluck dinner on Thursday, March 10that 6:30pm at the church.  We will have a great meal, time for fellowship and a guest speaker. Hope you can join us for this event.

Please join us on Monday, February 14that 7pm either via zoom or in person.  We will be reading the book The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson.  This beautifully written masterwork chronicles one of the great-untold stories of American history: the decades-long migration of black citizens who fled the South for northern and western cities, in search of a better life.Hope to see you all on February 14thfor fellowship and discussion!
