ROCKPORT HAPPENINGS!

HEALTHY COOKING DEMONSTRATION AND DINNER:

Don't want to cook on a Monday? Come to the Wesley Hall kitchen for a cooking demonstration followed by dinner. Guest chef Sandy Borrelli has a wonderful meal planned and an enlightening story.

The following event will be led by Beckie and Jeff Zullo. Don't miss this final cooking demonstration and dinner! Dollars remaining after the four-part series benefit Rockport's missions.
Sign up on the bulletin board or call the church office to register. Please bring $10 to pay at the door.

  • February 6, 5:30-7:00
  • February 20, 5:30- 7:00

“Whether you eat, drink or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

BOOK CLUB:

Our next book discussion will be on Wednesday, March 1st @ 7:00pm here at church.  The book we will be reading is “The Man Who Could Move Clouds” by Ingrid Rojas Contreras. “After an accident causes amnesia, Ingrid Rojas Contreras travels with her mother to Columbia seeking family memories. What they find in this poetic memoir is a complicated inheritance of history and magic.” Hope to see everyone in March for fun, fellowship and discussion.

MEN’S GROUP:
On Thursday, February 9th at 6:30pm the men will gather for a potluck dinner. Rev. Dan Bryant will make a presentation on United Methodist Church, organization and structure. His experience as a district superintendent and delegate to General Conference offers us an opportunity to learn the inner workings of our denomination. In addition, he will share information and resources to better understand some of the reasons a breakaway denomination, called the Global Methodist Church, formed in May, 2022, and how The United Methodist Church has responded. Everyone is invited to come and hear Dan’s presentation. Come and enjoy this special time together!

NEHEMIAH MISSION:

  • Sewing circle is in need of fabrics for women to make clothing. If you have fabric to spare, please bring it to the Rockport's church office.
  • Tuesday Bread on Bridge community meal volunteers are needed to make food and clean up from 1:00 - 4:30pm. Food donations for the meal are also welcomed. If you need a ride, contact Rockport's office.

MILITARY BOXES:

We will be packing military boxes after worship on February 12th. Please stop in room 22/meeting room following worship to help with this very important ministry of Rockport.  Questions, see Jeff Zullo.

Bill is survived by children Scott and Jennifer; their mother, Bette; grandchildren Harrison (Scott and Rebecca) and Mearan (Jennifer and Robert); and Bill's fiance Diana Nally. Bill was a Cleveland native, rooting for the Browns, Indians, and Cavs his entire life. He was a 1956 graduate of Rocky River High School, where he lettered in football and baseball, and served as class president. Bill played trumpet in The Ohio State Marching Band before ultimately graduating from the University of Pittsburgh. He later served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, playing trumpet as a member of the 113th Army band and bugle for fallen servicemen during the Vietnam war. Upon honorable discharge, Bill worked as a television producer/director in Miami, Florida, and Cleveland before joining the family business, H.R. Bowers Company. When not playing golf as a proud member of Westwood Country Club, Bill performed in musicals and instilled a love of music and sports in his children and grandchildren.
