MISSION WEEKEND!  
The Youth Group and I would like to thank everyone who participated in not only Youth Weekend and hosting us at their homes, but also the adults who came and chaperoned, worked hard, or made us dinner! Thank you Robbie & Jubilee, and Dan Newman, Kelly, & Becky! AUGUST 17 ROCKPORT & NORTH OLMSTED UMC PICNIC:  
We will gather at North Olmsted United Methodist, 4600 Dover Center Road, for a picnic on Sunday, August 17, 12:00pm. Building on North Olmsted UMC's Salad & Ice Cream Potluck, Rockport will bring grill items and buns. Please sign up on the bulletin board with what you would like to bring. Think hot dogs, brats, burgers, black bean burgers and hot dog and hamburger buns. We also need grill and clean up volunteers. Please bring grill items and buns to Rockport's 8:30am or 9:30am church service and put the grilling items in the parlor refrigerator. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet more church friends.

Come and join us! Bring your lunch and enjoy your food AND a great discussion! We will explore various topics in the church and Bible. 12 to 2 p.m.!  August 18th - We will see you at noon!

Tailgate Party on Sunday Sept 14^th 12:30 at Rockport UM Church. 
Make plans to join your Rockport and North Olmsted UM Churches in a tailgate for the Browns versus Ravens football game.  We will have the game shown on the big screen while we grill out and have a potluck of sides and desserts.  Wear your favorite sports team's shirt and come enjoy an afternoon of good food and fellowship.  Questions: call the church office




OFFICE HOURS:  
Pastor Tennille will be at Rockport UMC on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-2:00pm and at North Olmsted UMC on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-2:00pm.  Other times may be available by appointment.  Office hours will remain the same Monday-Thursday, 8-2:00pm and Fridays, 8-1:00pm.





BOOK CLUB: 
Please join us August 27^th @7:00pm in the Parlor, for our next book club. “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, published in 1943, is a semi-autobiographical novel by American writer Betty Smith. It follows the life of Francie Nolan, a young girl growing up in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn in the early 20th century. The narrative, told from Francie's perspective, unfolds amidst poverty and the challenges of immigrant life, emphasizing the power of education and the resilience of the human spirit.  Hope to see everyone on August 27^th for food, fun, fellowship, and discussion.

In Episode 64 “My Call Story: Alex Milne” Alex shares about his long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis, how it has shaped his walk with Christ, his service in the church and his call to help others who have chronic pain. “When you deal with a physical condition or an ailment you tend to do things different from most people. You have to greet each part of the day with, ‘how can I make this work?’” he shared. As part of his call to serve others Milne has written a book about his own journey with RA which encourages a need to connect with God as part of the journey. “He’s going to lift us up, carry us through, put someone or multiple people in our path at different times when we need them the most to help us.
