Engaging in Community
Those who call Rockport Church "home", learn about Jesus, worship together, invest in our faith together, and engage with others in our community and throughout the world. This page shares the variety of ways we have shared God's love through the years. At Rockport we are always finding fresh new ways to engage with those who need to experience the love of Jesus.

The children and youth of Rockport birthed a project that serves those in our community. Through donations they are providing some basic essentials to those who may need just a little help getting by. A wooden cabinet has been placed on the church property filled with various NON FOOD items, free for the taking! Through this project, the children have been learning about tough decisions people need to make on a very limited to no income.
Donations of personal care and household cleaning items are always accepted in the church office...as well as pet food!
PLEASE...no other food items.

Bus Station Ministry
Spending time at the local bus station, we offer small tokens of refreshment and joy to those who use public transportation.
Rockport served those who may otherwise not have had a healthy, hot Thanksgiving meal. Engaging in the community in this way was rewarding to all!
2017 Advent Mission
In 2017, as we prepared for Christ’s humble birth, Rockport Church chose to remember her closer neighbors who may not have means to enjoy a Christmas meal. Our 2017 Advent Mission provided such meals and distributed them to various locations in the community. Throughout December, many individuals donated resources and provided non perishable foods. Youth, families and more filled the bags. And still more headed out into the community to put these bags in the hands of those who may have found themselves with little this season. Bags were distributed to senior centers, bus station, and to our own neighbors and friends whom we know could use a little extra dose of God's love.
Shoes for Ethiopia
Over an entire month, Rockport collected over 200 pairs of shoes to send to those less fortunate. After we were challenged to consider how many shoes we have, how many shoes we need, and to act on behalf of those who have none, bagfuls of shoes started pouring in. Thank you for expressing God's love and compassion by giving abundantly.
For several years, Rockport has served Christ by handing out goodies to the community as we participate in the Fairview Summerfest parade.
We have handed out popsicles, bottled water, dog treats and numerous messages of God's love to hot and thirsty crowds.
